Slow-smoked ribs is Arthur Bryant’s specialty, served with their delicious sauces, all secret recipes. With two locations in Kansas City, it’s easy to see why they’ve expanded into one of Kansas City’s top BBQ restaurants. Known as one of the most legendary barbequers in the country, Arthur Bryant’s fans include former Presidents Obama, Carter and Truman! Jack Stack Barbecue
Ask any Kansas Citian what their thoughts are about Jack Stack Barbecue and they won’t be able to recommend it enough! Jack Stack started in 1957 by the Fiorella family and to this day is still owned by a third generation Fiorella. When they first opened they only offered five to six items, but their menu has since evolved into one of the most diverse in the area offering delicious hickory smoked BBQ and delectable sides like a cheesy corn bake and hickory pit baked beans.
Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que
You may think we’re crazy to say one of the best barbecue restaurants in town started in a gas station, but it’s true! Located at the corner of 47th and Mission Road in Kansas City, KS, Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que has become one of the tastiest and preferred barbecue stops in the Kansas City area and now has three locations to choose from. Before opening their first restaurant, owners Jeff and Joy Stehney competed in barbecue competitions across the country, winning some of the most prestigious awards and holding many “Grand Champion” titles! If you’re lucky enough to visit Joe’s, try the Z-Man or burnt ends, you won’t be disappointed!

One of the most visited barbecue joints in the Heart of America, Q39, is owned by Chef Rob Magee. Chef Magee graduated from Culinary Institute of America and opened one of the best local BBQ joints in the country, serving delicious brisket and Angus beef cooked in hickory fired smokers. They also serve amazing fish, burgers and steaks!
